Privacy Policy for gSend

Last updated: May 28, 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to gSend ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy notice, or our practices with regards to your personal information, please contact us at support@gsend-extension.co.uk.

This privacy notice describes how we might use your information if you:

  • Download and use our browser extension - gSend (the "Extension")
  • Engage with us in other related ways ― including any sales, marketing, or events (collectively, the "Services")

The purpose of this privacy notice is to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we (the gSend Extension) collect or access, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. **Crucially, gSend is designed to operate primarily locally within your browser.**

If there are any terms in this privacy notice that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our Services immediately.

2. Information We Collect and Access

Information Processed Locally by the Extension:

  • Gmail Data: When you use the gSend Extension, it interacts with your Gmail account data (emails, contacts, drafts) directly within your browser. This data is processed locally on your computer to enable features like sending individual emails, mail merge, and email collection. This data is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
  • Google Sheets Data: If you use the Google Sheets integration, gSend will request your authorization via Google's OAuth2 consent screen to access the specific Google Sheets you select. This data is retrieved and processed locally within your browser for mail merge personalization. Your Google Sheets data is not transmitted to or stored on our servers by the gSend Extension.
  • Intermittent Inbox Monitoring (Locally): To manage automated follow-up sequences and handle unsubscribe requests, the gSend Extension intermittently checks your Gmail inbox locally within your browser. This activity includes:
    • Regularly checking recent emails (e.g., the 5 most recent emails every 2 minutes) for replies to emails you've sent using gSend. This allows the extension to automatically remove recipients from scheduled follow-up sequences if they have replied.
    • Periodically scanning your inbox (e.g., hourly) for unsubscribe requests. This helps maintain your mailing list hygiene and respect recipient preferences by, for example, updating your local blacklist.
This monitoring and the data processing involved occur locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
  • Extension Settings and Job Data: User preferences, campaign configurations, scheduled job details, and blacklist information are stored locally on your computer using the Chrome Storage API.
  • SendGrid API Key (Optional): If you choose to integrate with SendGrid for high-volume sending, you will provide your SendGrid API key. This key is stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API and is used solely to authenticate with SendGrid's API on your behalf. This API key is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Personal Information You Disclose to Us (e.g., via our website): We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you purchase the Extension, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services (like submitting a contact form), or otherwise when you contact us. This may include your name, email address, and payment information (processed by our payment provider, PayPal).

Information Automatically Collected (e.g., via our website): We may collect limited data regarding your use of our website for analytics purposes (e.g., page views, browser type). This data is typically anonymized or aggregated and does not identify you personally. The gSend Extension itself does not automatically collect personal data for transmission to us.

3. How We Use Your Information

For the Extension's Functionality:

  • Your Gmail and Google Sheets data (accessed with your permission) are used locally by the Extension to provide its core features: composing and sending emails, personalizing content, collecting email addresses from your Gmail, scheduling campaigns, and managing follow-ups.
  • To manage automated follow-up sequences by detecting replies to your sent emails, and to process unsubscribe requests by periodically checking your inbox for such requests, all performed locally within your browser.
  • If you configure SendGrid, your SendGrid API key is used locally by the Extension to send emails via SendGrid's API. In this case, the email content and recipient information are transmitted to SendGrid for processing and delivery, as per SendGrid's functionality and terms.

For Website-Related Services:We use personal information collected via our website (e.g., from purchases or contact forms):

  • To fulfill your purchase, including sending you your unlock code.
  • To send you marketing and promotional communications (if you opt-in).
  • To respond to your inquiries and solve any potential issues you might have.
  • To protect our Services (for example, for fraud monitoring and prevention).

4. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.

The gSend Extension does not share your Gmail content, email lists, Google Sheets data, or campaign data with our own servers or any third parties, other than as described below:

  • Google: When you use the Extension, your data is inherently processed by Google as part of using Gmail and Google Sheets. This is governed by Google's privacy policies.
  • SendGrid (If You Use It): If you configure and use the SendGrid integration, your email content and recipient data are transmitted to SendGrid for the purpose of sending emails. This is governed by SendGrid's privacy policy.
  • Payment Processors: If you purchase the Extension, your payment information is processed by our payment processor (e.g., PayPal). We do not store your full payment card details.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

5. Data Retention

Data Processed by the Extension: Data processed locally by the gSend Extension within your browser (like Gmail data, Google Sheets data for a session, extension settings, job queues, results of inbox monitoring, and SendGrid API key if provided) is subject to your browser's data storage capabilities (Chrome Storage API) and Google's data policies for Gmail. We do not store this data on our servers. You can typically clear this data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing your browser's storage for the extension.

Information Collected via our Website: We will only keep your personal information (e.g., from purchases or contact forms) for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).

6. Security of Your Information

We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

For the gSend Extension:

  • It operates as a Chrome Manifest V3 extension, adhering to Google's latest security and privacy standards for extensions.
  • Sensitive data processed by the extension (like your Gmail data, Google Sheets content for mail merge, inbox monitoring results, and your SendGrid API key) is handled locally within your browser.
  • Settings and job data are stored using the Chrome Storage API, which is local to your browser profile.

However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information we hold (primarily related to website interactions or purchases), (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability.

For data processed locally by the gSend Extension, you have direct control within your browser and your connected Google account.
